Eyebrow piercing size guide

ARCADE Piercing: How to measure and choose your arcade piercing?

In order to best choose the size of your future jewelry, here is a size guide providing useful information for comparing, measuring and choosing the right size jewelry.

PLEASE NOTE: This size guide is a general suggestion based on our experience with piercings. Please note that depending on individual body shape and the conditions under which the piercing was performed, it is important to consider that the length and/or choice of jewelry may vary from person to person.

General information

The eyebrow piercing is generally composed of a bar, either straight or curved, decorated with diamonds, patterns or screw-on balls (yellow gold eyebrow piercing with zircons, white gold eyebrow piercing with snake, for example).

Less common, it is also possible to put a ring or a horseshoe in the eyebrow piercing.

What size is an eyebrow piercing?

The first criteria to take into account is the thickness of the stem (or screw) which will determine the size of the jewel according to the type of jewel you want to wear.

The two most common rod thicknesses are 1.2mm and 1.6mm (bar diameter).

1.2mm is the most common barbell size for eyebrow piercings. This is also the barbell size used as a prosthesis when you get pierced.

The 1.2mm allows you to wear all kinds of jewelry on the eyebrow, from the smallest and most discreet to the most sophisticated (diamond eyebrow piercing, eyebrow piercing with white zircons, 18 carat gold pendants).

For a fine and refined gold jewel, the 1.2mm screw is therefore the most recommended.

The thicker 1.6mm screw is often recommended by men who want to wear more visible jewelry or larger piercing balls.

How to measure your eyebrow piercing?

It's important to have an eyebrow jewelry with a barbell that's the right length. A barbell that's too short will compress the skin and could be painful, while a barbell that's too long will cause snagging and, if worn repeatedly, will reduce the skin space between the two piercing holes.

To measure your eyebrow piercing, the element to take into account is the bar length (in millimeters)

The bar length is the distance between the top ball/or diamond and the bottom ball/or diamond.

The measurement is done in the same way for a curved bar as for a straight bar.

Note: The screw pitch is not taken into account when measuring the bar length:

Alternatively you can also measure the length of eyebrow piercing you need by directly measuring the distance between the two piercing holes of your eyebrow as follows:
